For over 25 years, Kensington has been one of the UK’s leading specialist mortgage lenders. We serve fast-growing segments such as the self-employed, contract workers, multiple-income applicants and those who have a small blip on their credit file – people the high street is not always set up to cater for.

Disappointed Experience with Kensington Mortgages. My partner and I recently applied for a mortgage with Kensington through a mortgage broker. Unfortunately, we were informed yesterday that our application has been declined. However, we were not provided with any reason for this decision, which has left us feeling quite unsettled. When we called Kensington Mortgages to inquire about the reason for the rejection, we were told that they could only provide this information to our mortgage broker, not directly to us. However, when I contacted the mortgage broker, they informed me that, due to GDPR regulations, they are not allowed to disclose any information about the rejection. We strongly believe that, under the Freedom of Information Act and a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR), we are entitled to know the specific reason for the rejection. Understanding the rational behind this outcome is crucial for us to ensure there was no administrative error and to address any potential issues before we reapply in the future. Receiving this outcome without any further clarification has been extremely distressing, and the lack of transparency has only added to the frustration. We hope Kensington will provide more detailed feedback to assist us in understanding what went wrong and to guide our next steps.

Would give 0 if I could. It was a nightmare from start to finish... They wanted us to change accountants to suit them, then it was change solicitors to suit them then after all of that they wanted us to raise our deposit money by 9K oh and we had 2 weeks to do it or application would be declined! Which would of cost us in time and money. We nearly lost the house due to how much time it took and all the silly pointless questions asked that wasn't relevant to our mortgage. It isn't one person dealing with the case it seems to be a different person each time who then decided they want to ask more questions which pushes back the process etc. We finally got there but bring on 2 years and we can remortgage and get out!!!!! This was the most stressful time for myself and husband on something that should of my amazing starting our life together and first home together turned into stress, tears and heartache...stay clear and save the stress.

I have recently taken out a mortgage with Kensington, and to be honest when seeing the reviews it shocked me because my mortgage process has been as swift as anything. I must say the interest rate is not the greatest but that is the only problem causing 4 stars. Honestly would recommend them, I think most the 1 star reviews are just exaggerating.

Did you know that Kensington Mortgages who banked with the Barclays Are now in fact part of the Barclays Bank. Also was anyone aware of the LIBOR Scandal and that Barclays Bank was fined Millions of pounds for manipulating the same LIBOR rate ! People who had mortgages with Kensington were more or less being extorted by proxy ! Barclays manipulated the LIBOR Rate passing the new rate to Kensington Mortgages and Kensington Mortgages making the mortgage holders accountable for their Scandal.
